Drawn by Pain Screening Part Deux

I'm sorry that this a duplicate of a previous discussion made a few months back, but unfortunately some complications came up and the discussion had to be remade again.

In this discussion we are talking about possible dates for the screening, hotel choices, travel arrangements for those who need help and activities to do while in New York. This screening is to not only celebrate the completion of the Drawn by Pain series with friends who share the same enthusiasm, but to also show support for Jes, Erica and the entire crew for their hard work over the last few years to produce a piece of work that has earned them the Peoples' Choice Webby Award.

In the previous discussion, we had spoke of September being the possible month for the screening and now that Jes has determined it will be in late September, as of now, we will need to start getting more people involved to make this event even better than the last.

For those who are planning to attend, please state if you are going so we can get a proper head count, this also includes all those who had stated they were going in the previous discussion. All information was lost and we will need to have everyone who participated in the original discussion to repost.

Sorry for the inconvienence this has caused and please be patient as we try to get things planned and organized for the second part of Drawn by Pain in New York.

though on a personal note.. if I am going back to NY I'd like to be moderately comfortable during my stay there.. I know folks have varying budgets, so if need be I will look outside group for accomodation :); ▶ Reply to This

Yes we are doing a lot of things to improve the site on our end as well- not sure how that happened, but no biggie - I have a date in mind that I am getting close to locking and that is September 21-22 (the weekend after what you guys were discussing). I am talking to a company about potentially sponsoring the event - so that will help greatly.

Also the delay for screening on my side has been purely financial - as the output for the last screening was 5 thousand bucks (something I do not have) it could not simply be placed without some serious doing (or having someone else front the funds). I wish it was as easy as just deciding to do it. Please pass this on to your thread.

After what Jes has said, I should let people know that we were originally discussing the 12-14th as a possible weekend, but as Jes had stated, he is thinking about the weekend after that. So if people can start tentatively marking that date then we should be good. As things progress we will get a confirmation on that date and then move on to making other decisions for the event.

If people are willing to donate a little money to help with the event, that would be greatly appreciated as well.; ▶ Reply to This

Only way I would POSSIBLY ever be able to get to a screening if it is done next year, which since I know is not going to happen, you won't be seeing me or Jake at this next one.

It's the same account he had for JKW in regards to the donations since that was through PayPal as well. Even if it's $5, a little helps.; ▶ Reply to This

Actually, I had posted the dates for which Jes was looking at for the screening:

As of right now that is the tentative date. Once he closes it then it will be official. As of right now, that is what we are shooting for since 12 is nearing completion and the production of DVDs will be taking place. If things get delayed then we may have to push it back a weekend or two, but for now we are going to hope that this won't be the case.

But you had better come Mikey or else you will be mobbed, tared and feathered
